A real Dark Cosmos frame: the player's ship in the middle of a swarm of neon enemies, orbiting shards cutting through them

Dark
Cosmos

A neon twin-stick survival roguelite. Fly, aim, and build an arsenal that fires itself while the swarm closes in.

Free on the App Store: Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. On Android, an early test build is available to sideload. On a computer, play it in your browser. Want new Apple builds before they ship? Join the TestFlight beta.

One stick to fly, one to aim

Everything in your loadout fires on its own. Your job is where to be, what to aim the Rift Bolt at, and what to pick each time you level up.

Fly and fire
The left stick moves your ship. The right stick aims the Rift Bolt, the one weapon you fire by hand. Warp punches you through a gap in the swarm.
Build as you go
Kills drop XP. Each level offers a choice: a new weapon, a stat, or a step towards an evolution. Collect enough of one element and a weapon evolves into a stronger form.
Bring a drone wing
A Decoy draws fire from the start. Unlock Bombers, Interceptors, Disruptors and Logistics drones and fly with up to five on the cruiser.
Die, bank, return
Every run earns gold, even a short one. Spend it in the shop on permanent upgrades, new weapons, drones and the Obsidian cruiser.
The level-up screen offering three choices: +4 Void towards evolving the Blaster, Armor Plating, and Thrusters
A level-up at level 18. Fourteen more Void and the Blaster becomes the Auto-Cannon.
Apple TVNeeds a game controller (Xbox, PlayStation or MFi). The Siri Remote cannot fly the ship.
iPhone and iPadTouch twin-stick: drag anywhere on the left to fly, hold the aim stick to fire. Warp and Drone buttons sit by your thumb. Controllers work too.

Beat the boss. Choose where it gets worse.

Your first fight is with the Warden. Kill it and choose one of three dimensions to warp into. Each is an elemental dimension with its own enemies, hazards and boss, and the run keeps going.

Four bosses

Each one telegraphs its attacks, brings adds, and enrages below 40% health. HP shown is the base value; bosses grow with how long you have lasted and how strong you are.

The Warden in game

The Warden

Your first boss, and the one most dimensions end on. It cycles a melee swing, a ring barrage, homing missiles, a rotating spiral, a drone swarm and a summon of armed elites.

Graviton in game

Graviton

The Void boss. Radial volleys with safe lanes, a pull that drags you in harder as it weakens, and orbiting satellites. Enraged, it collapses into a pull-then-shove singularity.

FunZo in game

FunZo

The Poison boss. Drifts, then dashes in bursts, floods the arena with burning zones and calls in Rushers, Summoners and Chargers as its health falls.

The Eye in game

The Eye

The Light boss. Its lasers aim where you are going, not where you are. It blinks around the arena, fans out extra beams below half health and dashes along the edge.

Sixteen weapons that fire themselves

A frigate carries three at once, the Obsidian cruiser five. You start with the Blaster, Nova and Orbit Shards, and unlock the rest with gold. Fire leaves enemies burning; Electricity leaves them taking extra damage.
